The top priority within our Finish3D operation is to “benchmark” the PPT process on customer supplied additive parts. This is step three in our eight step selling process. Our Sales and Application Engineers work with customers to get samples of additive manufactured production parts that require automated and intelligent support removal and/or surface finishing. A Benchmark Request Form is filled out by the Application Engineering or Sales Engineering team, parts are sent to Buffalo, and a conference call is conducted to ensure we have a clear understanding of the results the customer would like us to achieve. The Finish3D Process Dev Eng is responsible for the “finish” of benchmark parts with guidance from our Application Engineers. The candidate will also be responsible for producing Performance Evaluation summaries and ensuring the proper data collection per the customer Benchmark Request. We conduct frequent Home Court Advantage (HCAs) visits for our customers at headquarters and Finish3D is our showroom. Therefore, maintaining a “showroom environment” in the Finish3D lab is required. There is also a great opportunity for regular interaction with our blue-chip customers.

Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions of the position include but are not limited to the following:
Developing and documenting incoming benchmark parts and processes: photos, ensuring the Benchmark Worksheet is properly completed and entering the associated data into our system.
Document Finish3D benchmark processing conditions and parameters in detail.
Ensure completion of benchmarked parts for customers on our Key Opportunity list within 14 business days of receiving.
Maintain a schedule of all benchmarks including date received, date processed, date completed and date shipped.
Schedule and support testing needed by the PostProcess Engineering team.
Produce Performance Evaluations that clearly outline the process(es) used to achieve the desired results and partner closely with Application & Sales Engineering to deliver accurate and timely information to customers.
Team closely with the Director of Finish3D to develop OKRs that are laser-aligned with our company OKRs
Provide meticulously collected parameter data in an additive manufacturing printer and material database that captures our current capabilities and is utilized in the Machine Selector tool (requires close partnering with Sales) and also influences future developments (requires close partnering with Engineering).
Be a part of the team that performs extensive Factory Acceptance Testing of new revisions of existing machines and new offerings to ensure we deliver high quality solutions to customers at launch.
Ensure abundant bi-directional communication with Technical Customer Support to ensure they have the latest information on our benchmarking capabilities & results with customer feedback flowing back to F3D regularly.
Team with Technical Training and Field Engineers to assist with internal and external training as required.
Maintain proper inventory levels of consumables for all machines in F3D.
Clean and maintain all machines, including media swaps, filter changes and waste disposal, and ensure they always have a showroom appearance.
Maintain a clean and professional work environment.
Lead tours and demonstrations of F3D during customer visits to Buffalo.
Attend trade shows and other significant customer events as required.
Possess a strong interest in cutting edge technology and have the ability to test and deploy new technologies to meet the growing needs of our customers.
Team closely with customers and Development Engineering to develop new technologies as well as advance current technologies
Skills and Qualifications
Impeccable record keeping skills applied to processing of parts through the Benchmark process.
Solid understanding of Additive Manufacturing technologies including design software, printers and materials.
Ability to multi-task and thrive in a fast-paced, sometimes chaotic environment and ensure benchmarks are processed in priority order to achieve our OKRs.
Ability to thrive in a high-performing, collaborative culture that anticipates and exceeds customer expectations.
The candidate will be the primary team member responsible for running benchmarks so they must be willing to “get their hands dirty daily”, have strong electromechanical and system process skills, including operating industrial machinery.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to design and execute experiments in close cooperation with Engineering to test key hypotheses. An understanding of statistical methods a plus.
Ability to make decisions with limited data and be willing to fail fast. A continuous improvement / growth mindset and approach are essential.
Excellent interpersonal skills with a collaborative team player approach.

Advanced computer skills, especially in Google Drive, Gmail, Google Docs, Google Apps, Asana, and Microsoft Office.
Occasional U.S. travel required and potentially international travel as we open additional F3D facilities.
Education and Experience
B.S. degree in Engineering, Material Science or equivalent technical program required; M.S. degree a plus.
3+ years of past working experience in the relevant engineering or technical field.
Experience with project management; software project management (i.e., Microsoft Project, Basecamp,…)
Experience in an ISO certified organization.
Knowledge of Additive Manufacturing is essential.
Experience in an early stage company is beneficial.
Data Analytics experience a plus.
