SUMMARY

Dynamic results-driven professional with over 15 years of management experience. I’m a diverse professional, experienced with special projects that require incorporation of engineering theories, standards, concepts, and techniques as well as engineering / industrial / government codes and regulations. What I bring to the table is real world experience, developing strategies to meet and manage NERC CIP compliance programs, developing best practice processes, to validate an entities industrial cyber-security posture, and NERC compliance status. As a NERC compliance professional, I incorporate a technical prospective while analyzing capital projects, performing risk assessments, for physical and cyber-security vulnerabilities, utilizing root-cause-analysis expertise for tracking NERC CIP V3 and V5 risks of non-compliance for highly visible critical infrastructure projects. My diverse skillset and successes include self-employment, research that includes governmental projects, project management of industrial capital projects for industrial systems that are typically unique to Electric Utilities, and Oil and Gas industries. My experience includes project analysis that typically deals with Program Management, Project Management, industrial Cyber-Security, Cyber-Security compliance, internal compliance procedures, and process controls related to DCS systems, industrial communications system design, industrial cyber and physical security implementation, critical vulnerability assessments, CIP risk assessments, risk management, mitigation plans and remediation plans, SCADA and data acquisition systems design, commissioning, and troubleshooting efforts. As a seasoned cyber security/NERC CIP Reliability Standards Compliance “SME”, I incorporate engineering theories standards, codes and regulations specifically, NERC-CIP CIP-002-3-009-3 Standards. I perform a vital role in the development of programs, processes, and procedure for 002-5 through 014-2 standards, utilizing industry specific knowledge that includes NERC-CIP-V3, V5, FERC, NERC, WECC, NIST, OSHA, NEC, IEEE, ANSI, NEMA, and Sarbanes Oxley 404 concepts.
As T&D NERC CIP V5 Compliance Program Manager for the (T&D) Reliability Standards Compliance group, I’m part of a dedicated team that strives to reduce operational challenges to compliance with NERC CIP Version 3 requirements, while assessing the potential risks and impacts of NERC CIP V5. As part of a core team, I have participated in the development of CIP 002-5.1 through 014-1 programs, processes, and procedures. Daily, I take initiative and accountability for managing cross-functional compliance efforts seriously, coordinating, and facilitating processes that enhance internal controls, communicating findings to upper management. I have the responsibility to forge effective working relationships with key internal and external business partners, bridging the gap between organization units, providing in-depth knowledge of compliance regulations and controls, dealing with programmable cyber asset management, and maintenance of lists of cyber assets, and change control, developing strategies and procedures to improve internal controls surrounding NERC compliance consistency across organizational units. I perform a vital role in the development of programs, processes, and procedure for 002-5 through 014-5 standards. Typically, I deal with cyber-security compliance, internal compliance programs, policies, procedures, process controls, NERC CIP V3 & V5 compliance components, and NERC CIP V5 program management. I have a track record and expertise for completing highly visible, critical, information-centered technical projects. Throughout my career, I’ve collaborated with diverse distributed project teams through complex system design and deployment efforts for industrial electrical systems, as well as root-cause-analysis for issues identified as part of commissioning of electronic controls for industrial instrumentation systems, SCADA automation, industrial communication systems, telecommunication systems, as well as RF Microwave / Wireless Ethernet & Broadband Network planning, as well as optimization projects for industrial communications systems supporting electrical distribution, and distributive control systems.
