Experience

05/10 " Present: Independent Consultant

Worked several projects for customers including the following:
- Skyonic – Currently developing a C# / WPF /SQL Server 2008 application that performs Monte Carlo calculations based on input streams received from a Aspen Plus result set.
- FurnitureAppeal.com – Performed installation and some light customization of customers Zen Cart template for a high end furniture business.
- Better Business Green (BBGreen.org) – Developed PHP / MySQL eCommerce application that functions as a collaborative business environment that allows member companies and consumers to effectively communicate to resolve differences and to improve methods and increase knowledge of more efficient ways of conducting business that are less damaging to the environment.
- Advanced Reliability Technologies - Assisted ART's developer in building the next generation of their ReliaBuilder Risk Analyst tool. This application is used by Risk and Failure Analysts using Monte Carlo Methods to compile studies on plants, refineries, off shore platforms for major oil companies. The new tool is developed using SQL Server express VB.NET, WPF, MVVM using Prism, MCF and RAD Telerik components using Visual Studio 2010 and TFS as the development environment.
- CareCircle.com - CareCircle.com is an interactive site that requires a subscription for membership and allows members to make donations to assist people in need. The application was developed in ASP with a SQL Server 2000 database.
- ChefsLine.com - Developed a PHP4 / osCommerce application that allows users to subscribe to the site to search / retrieve and add recipes and write reviews.
- Affordable Medical Care Clinic - Developed a patient tracking application using VB.NET / SQL Server. The application writes all transactions to a local and remote database. The remote server allows management to track daily activity via remote PC or smart phone using PHP scripts to pull and format data.
- Hook-n-Hitch - Developed a custom Shop Management application to add/update/delete/manage customer accounts, inventory tracking controls and invoice generation and tracking using PHP5.3, MVC pattern in the Zend Framework with a MySQL database. The business is a trailer repair and truck accessory business.
- Lawgistix - Built the Avoid-bankruptcy.org website performing research to provide content.
- Electronic Media Services - Provided consulting services on several projects managed by EMS using PHP, MySQL, DHTML, AJAX and ASP

01/03 " 03/10: Software Systems Engineer, Batech/Boeing

Responsible for the requirements verification, design, development, user acceptance testing and support of space shuttle program software systems and engineering applications by applying CMMI software engineering standards, principles and processes. Primary projects include the following:
- Leading the design effort for transitional and architectural modifications to the Shuttle Drawing System (SDS). SDS is the primary repository and distribution system for officially released space shuttle technical specifications and engineering orders serving a user base of 4000+. General duties include maintaining 3 million lines of CGI code written in ANSI C, Pro*C, Java and Unix shell scripts, TCP/IP socket programming and multiple Oracle databases distributed over four Solaris Unix nodes, interfacing with the NASA and United Space Alliance customers, gathering requirements from the customers, maintaining all system processes, directing user acceptance testing for new internal web interface enhancements, and mitigating issues.
- Design and programming of the Shuttle Day of Launch Weather Balloon Data Transfer System using POSIX serial programming written in C++ on an IBM AIX UNIX platform. The system retrieves queued data transferred from high altitude weather balloons to a mainframe located at an Air Force weather station in Cape Canaveral, Florida. The system formats the data which is then used to perform Integrated Load and Wind analysis prior to and during the Space Shuttles ascent.
- Designed internal various other Web interfaces and developed with PHP5+ using the Zend Framework, Javascript, Oracle in a Unix/Linux environment. Compiled, interpreted, and presented Web site statistics to upper management. Wrote documentation for server installation/configuration and software documentation for end-users and future programmers.

11/01 - 01/03: Software Systems Engineer / Risk Analyst, SAIC/NASA-JSC-IRM

Applied Bayesian and Monte Carlo analysis methods to develop software tools that assisted risk analysts to perform Probability Risk Assessments (PRA) and Fault Tree analysis on STS orbiter components and line replaceable units (LRUs). Tools were developed using Java, C / C++ in a Unix environment.
Responsible for the requirements verification, design, implementation, testing and delivery of the Supplier Assessment System (SAS) to NASA Headquarters. SAS is a web-based application developed using ASP, AJAX and ASP.NET with a SQL Server 2000 backend.

01/01 - 10/01: Consultant Software Engineer, Pervasive Software

Responsible for the design, development, testing, and delivery of 3-tiered distributed and web-based software systems. Consulted with clients on a variety of technical issues to determine problems or gather design requirements and provide efficient solutions accordingly. Managed multiple projects and simultaneously working closely with clients to determine their project needs and requirements. Projects ranged from developing a full COM component based restaurant management system in Visual Basic 6 with a Pervasive 2000i backend to medical applications and on-line s...
