Profile: Electrical System Engineer with experience working on R&D projects for the Department of Energy, seeking technical research, especially in the areas of optical and display systems
EXPERIENCE

R&D Systems Engineer
Sandia National Laboratories
Apr 2013 – Present

• Served as team lead for the System Integration Testing to qualify a replacement component which involved explosive, radiological, and high-voltage sources and equipment
• Facilitated the institution of Engineered Safety on site, implementing our organization’s safety case for all future activity level electrical work. I am now instructing other organizations in this process
• Conducted Root Cause Analysis for a component through diagnostic electrical testing and logic analysis, while also collaborating with various subject matter experts and offering conclusions to the investigation committee
• Lead the team responsible for an upcoming build coordinating efforts between the design and production agencies and qualifying the assembly process for the latter
• Assisted with the development and testing of an electrical screening process of critical safety components that impacted multiple departments
• Coordinated multi-site effort to prepare for an upcoming system alteration that included revising and drafting new engineering authorizations and updating component drawings
• Performed high voltage test series that investigated the current leakage characteristics of the system, drafting the test procedure and working with site safety personnel for appropriate approvals
• Active DOE “Q” Clearance

Display Researcher
Novel Device Lab
Dec 2008 – July 2012
• Created, developed, and programmed a modified Goniometer for the lab to measure light reflectance profiles off of different substrates for use in reflective displays
• Independently fabricated different diffuser patterns using PET fabrication, photolithography, and atomic layer deposition, then tested their light reflectance profiles in order to optimize the diffuse reflection desired
• Fabricated and tested sealed suspended particle display modules (as seen in smart window technology) for Sun Chemical using hydrochloric etching of ITO glass, and implemented them with the diffuser patterns to create a pixel reflective display device
• Defended thesis titled “A Custom Reflectance Goniometer and its Usage in the Development of Gain Reflectors for Electronic-Paper Applications”
• Performed extensive data analysis on liquid contact angle of the electro-wetted droplet for a variety of liquids and substrates to optimize the potential display design for the fastest and most energy efficient solution
• Lead the ...
