- Hosted numerous workshops with affected parties to resolve concerns, established acceptable means of communication, and finalized work scope; effective in providing timely and informative presentations to interested parties.
- Managed multiple simultaneous contracts for field work that included development of innovative technologies for assessing the presence of groundwater upwelling in the Columbia River, and sampling and retrieval of over 1,200 samples of sediment, soils, water, and fish over a 120 mile stretch of the river.
- Performed data review, validation, and assessment for a wide range of RI data; oversaw development and authored numerous topical reports summarizing field operations and data conclusions.
- Managed completion and issuance of the ecological and human health risk assessments for the remedial investigation of the Columbia River; led comment resolution meetings and negotiations with client and regulatory agencies regarding both of these documents.
- Coauthored a regulatory integration strategy for arriving at final cleanup decisions, and developed engineering evaluation/cost analysis documents.
- Oversaw development of the basis for interim operations and technical safety requirements for two radioactively contaminated burial grounds and authored the design basis/design criteria document for the initial remedial designs for those burial grounds.
- Managed (as Subcontractor Technical Lead for 4 years) the U.S. DOE Headquarters Technology Demonstration Program for developing remediation technologies for those burial grounds, including leading a workshop that engaged national technical experts and contracting specialists from industry and government.
- Contributing author for a feasibility study to evaluate remedial alternatives for the disposition of a nuclear materials processing facility.
- Authored an implementation plan to establish a streamlined approach and common regulatory framework for implementing characterization activities at approximately 700 soil waste sites (ponds, ditches, cribs, burial grounds) covered under both CERCLA and RCRA programs.
- Led remedial investigations for three waste site groupings including vadose zone and groundwater portions, and subsequent development of numerous field reports, limited field investigation report, feasibility study report, and proposed plan.
- Managed installation and sampling from a groundwater monitoring well network to determine contaminant fate and transport.
- Led the waste site evaluation process for 400 waste sites to dete...
