System Simulation and Analysis Project
 Identified a problem system in need of simulation, analysis, and improvement. Gathered input data and fit distributions to be used in an arena model of the system. Modeled the system in Arena and collected output data to compare the goodness of fit of the model. Used Arena to model the system with proposed ideas to improve efficiency and measured performance against the current system to make informed suggestions based on those results. Found System bottleneck and potential correction.
Linear Programming: Oleum Oil Strategic Planning
 Created a linear program to model a strategic planning guide, to find the most cost effective method, while meeting certain system constraints. Involved extensive use with Ampl paired with Cplex to program and solve the mathematical model.
Facility Design Project: Material Handling Student Design Competition Case
 Decided the facility needs based off of given data and the internal material handling system of a one million square foot distribution center. Project included the placement of necessary facility areas and the creation of a material storage and retrieval system.
Design of Production Control Systems
 Optimizing of work by using Theory of Constraints, Batch Processing, an applicable mathematical model, and other scheduling tools. Project was used to show how to improve efficiency of a given worker.
Senior Capstone: DB Schenker
 Analyzed feasibility of implementing full layer pick technology in a food distribution center. Identified SKUs that would benefit from increased picking efficiency and evaluated time saving potential. Tested prototype to ensure SKU usability. Redesigned warehouse layout to incorporate new technology. Results indicated payback period of approximately 1.3 years.
 Recommended changes to improve customer ordering patterns by eliminating waste during product handling by bridging the gap between ordering and warehouse material handling. Created example documentation highlighting areas of opportunity to increase shipping efficiency. Presented an idea that if implemented, would promote efficiency on...
