• Engine Room Operator – Operates and controls machinery for Gas Turbine Engines and Gas Turbine Generators for electrical power and propulsion of the ship.
• Engine Room Monitor – Monitored readings on General Electric LM2500 Gas Turbine Engines, Gas Turbine Generators and its auxiliaries to ensure proper functioning.
• Safely changed the oil on the ships line shaft bearing while at sea in less than 7 hours, an evolution that usually takes more than twice that amount of time.
• Assisted in depot level repairs to 3 High Pressure Air Compressors, resulting in continuous production, storage, and transfer of more than 15,000 gallons of liquid oxygen and nitrogen providing support to carrier Air Wing 5 flight operations.
• Proficient in daily handling, distributing, and vaporizing of 2,000 gallons of highly combustible liquid oxygen and 2,000 gallons of liquid nitrogen.
• Operated, maintained, and repaired 8 high pressure air compressors, 2 oxygen/nitrogen vaporizers, heat exchangers, valves, and strainers to keep a cryogenic shop operating accordingly.
