Grouting Technical Support/Shift Supervisor, Cargill Deicing Technology: Avery Island, LA (Nov 2011- P)
• Use Vulcan 3D mine modeling software to assist in dewatering the mine. Software is used to target locations for new and existing grout holes throughout the mine. As well as location of geologic features
• Update daily drill logs and mine maps into Vulcan to determine where next drill location/hole will be underground, targeting the 27 leaks locations throughout the mine.
• Performing analysis on how leak rates are affected based on lower level face and bench advance
• Assist with leak control plan based on leak study and historical leak data in Vulcan 3D
• Ensure the safety of the 7 man crew with daily safety meetings, workplace examinations and proper training
• Supervise dewatering/grouting efforts in the mine and shafts using back wall injection techniques with multiple types of grout (#1,2 Portland Cement, Micro-fine Cement and polyurethane grouts) and different additives (calcium chloride, plasticizer, and salt gels).
• Responsible for the maintenance and running of numerous pumps throughout the mine (electric and diesel powered centrifugal, electric impeller, submersible and positive displacement pumps)
• Assisted with emergency surface drilling operation to fight a leak of 4000 gpm with sands and gravel inflow. Project included, mobilization of 4 surface drill rigs, board roads, grout pumps and batch plant, multiple 5,000 barrel frac tanks

Project Engineer, Cargill Deicing Technology: Avery Island, LA: Underground Salt Mine (July 2010 – Nov 2012)
• Manage capital and expense project for the surface and underground mining operations
• Manage the onsite contracted construction crews; perform daily safety meetings and workplace inspections.
• Obtain quotes from equipment manufacturers or contract construction crews.
• Write the justification for the spending of the capital or expense dollars.
• Ensure that the project meets the specifications and the needs of the plant and employees that will be operating/using the equipment, through approval and specification drawings from manufacturers.
• Coordinate with production and maintenance schedules for project start-ups.
• Manage any change that may be encountered with the new equipment/construction, by changing a procedure or writing a new procedure.
• Manage the receipt and quality of all materials ordered; along with quality of installation.
• Ensure project spending is within +/- 10% of original requested budget.
• Projects completed: Assisted with layout and supervision of installation of 7000-foot overland HDPE pipeline and pump. Supervised construction crews on demolition replacement of 2 bucket elevator legs. Modified the power transmission and head section of a third bucket elevator and supervised the construction crews on the removal and installation. Purchased and assisted with design of a powder truck, service truck, water truck, and flatbed truck. Supervised construction crews on installation and assisted with design of a bulk truck loading spout and positioner.
