Experience:

Manufacturing Operations:
Responsible for the startup and operation of a factory remanufacturing heavy duty transmissions. Responsibilities included site selection, design of manufacturing lines, equipment sourcing, vendor sourcing, and site staffing of a total investment exceeding one million dollars. Plant was profitable since second year of operations and averaged 17.6% ROI for 12 years plant was in operation.
Supervised production and procurement departments.
Implemented 5S, Process Change, Vendor Consignment Program, Cellular Manufacturing and APICS training.
Plant was four time safety award winner and 1,000 workdays since last OSHA recordable. Implemented robotic cleaning system for filters to eliminate problem with carpal tunnel syndrome.
Revamped an out of date inventory control system to a new MAS-90 system.
Developed proprietary documentation system that eliminated the need for new operator training.
Conducted continuous analysis program of warranty and out of warranty returns in order to improve product reliability.
Performed continuous cost analysis on product rebuilds in order to determine new ways for cost reductions on products. Typical cost reduction of 10 to 15 percent.

Engineering Management:
Managed new product introduction and support for approximately $16 million a year business segment that was growing in excess of 20% annually. Lead a team including one electrical engineer, one machinist, two designers and three technicians. Liaison directly with Marketing and Sales departments to respond to customer product requests. Was given added responsibility for final assembly of the above products. This involved leading seven more people.
Managed design and documentation of low cost brushless DC motors for the transportation and medical markets.
Hired to reorganize six person department responsible for product introduction and continued manufacturing support.
