Overview
Over 20 years of experience in preparation of National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and other documentation addressing environmental and worker and public health and safety issues, supporting waste management and environmental restoration operations at a DOE facility, and providing regulatory support to the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Agency (NRC) and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).

Summary of Experience
NEPA Analysis of Federal Facilities and Actions: As a Senior Engineer for SAIC (2005-present), co-author or participant in NEPA documents addressing DOE or NNSA activities at the Nevada National Security Site, Savannah River Site, Los Alamos National Laboratory, West Valley Demonstration Project, Hanford Site, Sandia National Laboratories, and the Pantex Site. Currently performing the waste management analysis for the Surplus Plutonium Disposition Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) (DOE/EIS-0283-S2) and Sandia National Laboratories Site-wide EIS. Includes analysis of impacts on treatment, storage, and disposal facilities due to the generation of transuranic, low-level and mixed low-level radioactive waste, and hazardous waste. As a Senior Engineer for ATL International (1999-2005), contributed to development of the EIS for the Proposed National Enrichment Facility in Lea County, New Mexico (NUREG-1790). Primary author of an Environmental Assessment (EA) for USEC’s proposed American Centrifuge Lead Cascade demonstration facility to be located at Piketon, OH.

Currently performing transportation analyses for the Surplus Plutonium Disposition Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) (DOE/EIS-0283-S2), Site-Wide EIS for the Nevada National Security Site (DOE/EIS-0426), and Tank Closure and Waste Management EIS for the Hanford Site (DOE/EIS-0391). Includes determination of number of shipments of nuclear and non-nuclear materials, radioactive wastes, and non-radioactive wastes, and evaluation of the radiological and nonradiological effects on workers and the public due to these shipments. Also estimating human health effects of operations on workers and the public. Computer codes used include Web-TRAGIS, RADTRAN, RISKIND, GENII.

DOE Facility Operations Support: As a System Engineer for Westinghouse Savannah River Company (1990 to 1995) performed planning for waste management facilities. Waste management support included projecting impacts on Savannah River Site waste management operations and analyzing total life cycle costs for managing these waste streams. Environmental engineering support included providing technical and regulatory compliance support for air stripper operations, and project controls and management of groundwater remediation programs...
