Manufacturing:
Quality Assurance Manager (Premier Silica, Brady Texas) November 2010 to Present. .Promoting quality achievement and performance improvement throughout the organization. Develop, implement, communicate and maintain a quality plan to bring the Company’s Quality Systems and Policies into compliance with quality system requirements. Effectively interact with Production and Development teams to maintain product supply and help introduce new products. Working with sales staff to establish quality requirements from potential customers. Ensuring tests and procedures are properly understood, carried out and evaluated and that product modifications are investigated if necessary. Supervising technical staff in carrying out tests and checks. Writing technical and management systems reports. Bringing together staff of different disciplines and driving the group to plan, formulate and agree comprehensive quality procedures. Persuading reluctant staff to change their way of working to incorporate quality methods. Manage and maintain the Company’s quality inspection and product release programs for in-process materials and components, processes and finished goods. Formulate and manage the development and implementation of goals, objectives, policies, procedures and systems pertaining to the QA/QC. Setting QA compliance objectives and ensuring that targets are achieved. Maintaining awareness of the business context and company profitability, including budgetary control issues. Initiatives and Programs Established Relevant to Quality Assurance:
Part 61 and Part 50 NSF Certification. Supervise Quality Control activities at eight locations. Wrote Excel database program to track sample data at all facilities. Responsible for customer complaint and non-conformance investigations including root cause failure analysis and corrective actions. Developed and implement Quality Control Plan for all facilities. Started API Daily update with explanation of low values. Set up testing lab at newly remodeled sand plant. Establish Quality control attitude through out all employees by establishing guidelines and controls that emphasize attention to parameters. Visit main customers and establish direct contact to better facilitate quick resolution of quality issues. Participate in week end management of all facilities on rotating schedule. Develop and implement Monthly Management Report. Develop waste management procedures to insure minimal loss of salable products. Assisted in daily Supervision of truck and rail load out and bagging Dec 2011 thru May 2011. Responsible for Daily publishing of Brady-Voca Dry Sand Volumes, Bulk Inventory, and SAP Total Sand Shipped. Quarry Sampling: Obtain and analyze drill blast hole cutting, as needed. Inventory and Shipped Volumes Reporting. Customer Complaints and Non-Conformance Incidents: Perform RCFA on all reported incidents, as needed. Voca West Startup May 2011: Assisted in establishing Control Room (ordering table, chairs, etc); Set-up all necessary QC Equipment. Establish Viable Quality Assurance Program at Brady-Voca Plant. Started Monthly QC reporting to AOM and Management Team. Attended Step Approach Training in Pittsburg, PA. Assisted in NSF 50 Application and submittal process. Assisted in UL account closure. Created Rail Rebilling Form in response to Customer Complaint. Submitted to AOM Lab Area Remodeling Estimates. Implemented Daily Instruction Sheet for Nights and Weekend Rail Load Personnel. Started Screen House Log book to record screen changes in screens and sizes. Installation of Network Connections for QC Sieve Viewing at BO Screen house, VN, and Voca South. Completed 30-50 Round Robin Trial: Established, conducted and recorded results. Wrote Excel program that will pull last 3 sample sieve results recorded (Brady, VN, VW, VS, Brady Screen house) and summarize on single page. Recommended Plan for Rerun Area to recapture all sand dumped or blown-off in Current Waste sand area at BO, VN, and VW. Set-up Log Sheet in BO, VN and VW Load outs to record trucks that require dumping or blowing off due to overweight or wrong material loaded.

Process Performance Engineer (Holcim Co., Portland, CO Plant-Cement) May 2006 to Dec 2009. Assumed the responsibilities of interim Process Manager when necessary. Perform and report regular process audits on vertical roller mill, ball mill, and pyroprocess systems. Perform burner pipe audits to optimize or troubleshoot performance. Worked closely with all plant departments in the day to day operations to improve operating and production performance. Identified standard operating parameters for all major plant equipment. Chosen as the Plant’s Energy Champion responsible for analyzing and monitoring energy use patterns and changes.
