WORKING AND RESEARCH EXPERIENCE
Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. San Diego, CA
Senior System Engineer 09/2013—present
· Lead of power management IC system verification and integration.
· A4WP Wireless charging system design, integration and verification lead in power management IC
· System integration, debugging and workaround design in charger module of Snapdragon 800 and 810 chipsets.
· Extensive lab experiences in chip level debugging, scripts development and test automation.
· Phone level hardware/software bring up, integration and workaround design in Linux Android and Windows OS.
University of Maryland, Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering College Park, MD
Research Assistant, 07/2010—07/2013
· Thesis concentration: Energy harvesting system integration, power management analog and mixed-signal circuit design.
· Designed and fabricated an end to end RF energy harvesting system that could harvest energy from a walkie-talkie with an efficiency of 15.6 %. The system includes a broad band rectenna, a switched-capacitor DC-DC voltage converter using IBM 8RF (130nm CMOS technology) PDK and a unique flexible nano-particle battery using RuOx.
· Constructed a Power Distribution System (PDS), which harvests ambient energy from different sources, and re-charge two alternative secondary battery arrays that can drive a variety of unattended electronics. The whole system is controlled by a self-programmed ultra low power microcontroller
· Developed an ultra low power tunable neural oscillator for biological rhythmic behaviors.
· Designed, tested and characterized radiation hard circuit modules used in cryogenic environment with Peregrine SOS and eJazz PDK.
· Designed a down-conversion frequency mixer for RF communication with a filter-embedded amplifier
