RESEARCH EXPERIENCES
Research Assistant in Microelectronics Research Center
1. Microlens array induced light absorption enhancement in OPV April 2012-Sep 2012
• Fabricated OPV devices with and without microlens array to compare within two types of polymer systems.
• Employed current-voltage, optical absorption, and external quantum efficiency (EQE) characterization of OPV devices and showed enhancement from microlens array.
• Supported microlens array induced enhancement with absorption and electrical field simulation from collaborator using planewave-based transfer matrix method.

2. Investigation of different annealing treatments in OPV Feb 2011-Aug 2011
• Applied different combinations of annealing treatments in P3HT:PCBM bulk heterojunction solar cells.
• Different structural and optoelectronic characterizations including light IV, absorption, quantum efficiency, CV-CF, Voc vs Light intensity, atomic force microscopy and mobility measurement based on SCLC were employed to analyze and compare different annealing effects comprehensively.
• The results and conclusions generate new information and complement other research results on annealing effects.

3. Combining bulk and planar structures in OPV Sep 2010-Nov 2010
• Examined the sandwich structure of bulk and planar heterojunction in OPV.
• Compared single bulk structure and bulk-planar structure, and showed that OPV with just single bulk structure has the highest performance.

4. Other experiments with new materials and structures
• Fabricated OPV using new polymers from Prof. Jeffries-EL of Chemistry department at ISU.
• Fabricated OPV using semi-transparent metal electrode from Prof. Ho of Physics department at ISU.
• Fabricated OPV with additive ferroelectric material to enhance exciton dissociation in polymer to improve device performance.
