Research Experience
Graduate Research Assistant, Michigan Technological University Aug 2011–Dec 2012
 Invented an approach using logistic regression with Hosmer- Lemeshow statistics to select
the best statistical model for worldwide earthquake-induced liquefaction case histories.
 Modeled the municipality’s pipe water spills, which caused a huge land slide in Ukraine in
year1997, using Rocscience Slide; created a stability chart for similar slopes in that region.
 Used HAZUS to perform sensitivity analyses to social and economic losses for three magnitude scenarios based on an earthquake in 1811 as well as for 2% and 10% probability of exd. in 50 years.
Research Assistant, Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, India May 2009 -July 2009
 Numerically simulated using finite element method and analyzed the effect of fault angle and position on fault reactivation due to tectonic stresses.
Summer Fellow, Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, India May 2007-July 2007
 Used @ RISK program to model the risk of failure for a natural slope and sensitivity of factor of safety (FS) to cohesion, angle of friction, and water column depth in a tension crack.
 Performed regression analysis to establish empirical correlations between penetration rate and different rock properties such as shear strength, tensile strength, and P wave and S wave velocity.
