Professional Experience
2004-PRES Raytheon Ktech, Albuquerque, NM. Materials Engineer.
• Supported thermal spray coatings program at Sandia National Labs (Sandia) developing and improving protective polymer and thermal spray coating applied to circuit boards.
• Set up and conduct experiments to quantify polymer coatings.
• Coordinated with Sandia’s Thermal Spray Research Lab for conducting thermal spraying experiments, evaluated the integrity of the coating and performance of the electronics after the process. Documented the process and experimental results.
• Project Engineer for a Sandia sponsored explosive timers/drivers development project at Raytheon Ktech.
• Built up a laboratory in 12 months for assembly of explosive time/drivers used as part of nuclear weapon components for Sandia.
• Maintained frequent communication with the Sandia customer through teleconferences and monthly written reports.
• Tracked and managed funding on the program.
• Project Manager on production contract for thermal spray coating materials.
• Create material production schedules and oversee execution of schedules.
• Interface with contract costumers via monthly reports, teleconferences, and program management review meetings.
• Maintain communication with coating vendors to keep them up-to-date on material shipments and address issues they had.

2002-2004 New Mexico Institue of Mining and Technology, Socorro, NM. Research Assistant.
• Managed NASA funded project on creating protective coatings for polyimide composites.
• Conducted experiments to determine how plasma spray parameters affect the microstructure and mechanical properties of metals and ceramics.
• Optimized spray conditions to obtain dense bond coat and topcoat for polymer matrix composites (PMCs). Analyzed micrographs of coating/composite cross-sections and fracture surfaces to obtain information on coating microstructure and mechanisms of failure.

Education
2008-2010 University of New Mexico, Albuquerque, NM: Masters of Business Administration
2002-2004 New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology, Socorro, NM: Masters of Materials Engineering
1997-2002 SUNY at Stony Brook, Stony Brook, NY: Bachelor of Engineering: Material Science - Minor: Materials Engineering

Additional Work Experience

2002-2004 Lockheed Martin, Sandia National Laboratories, Albuquerque, NM. Student Intern/Research Assistant. Designed and setup erosion test system for Thermal Spray Research Lab. Conducted erosion tests on ceramic coatings flame sprayed onto aluminum substrates. Calibrated Instron tensile tester and developed analog-to-digital interface between the tensile tester and computer for digitized graphic display of load and displacement data. Designed and fabricated fixtures and developed procedure for preparing cold sprayed samples for tensile adhesion tests. Prepared numerous cold spray samples for tensile adhesion tests. Authorized “L” clearance level.
