Objective:
To apply my knowledge and experience in materials, semiconductors and photovoltaics to assist in the development or deployment of new technology
Education:
Professional Science Master’s Degree in Photovoltaics Sep 2011 to Jul 2013
The University of Toledo (UT), Toledo, Ohio, USA
Bachelor of Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering Sep 2007 to Jun 2011
Wuhan University of Technology (WHUT), Wuhan, China
Bachelor of Arts, English Sep 2009 to Jun 2011
Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Wuhan, China
Full-time Internships:
ISOFOTON North America, Inc. (Napoleon, Ohio) Jan 2013 to Jul 2013
Worked in the Department of Quality and Process. Flash tester verification is measured three times a day to make sure the flash tester is reliable. Statistical Process Control (SPC) chart is drawn daily to track the trend of electrical parameters such as short circuit current, open circuit voltage, maximum power, fill factor, cell and module efficiencies, and etc. Weekly data analysis and monthly solar cell to module (CTM) loss analysis are written to understand and control the whole process and production. Flash master excel sheet is made to act as the company database. VLOOKUP function and IF function are used to look up and populate data from the flash master excel sheet automatically and to compose flash reports for customers. Key Performance Indicators (KPI) graphs are drawn daily. Helped pack and ship solar modules to Laredo, TX, Puerto Rico and Japan. Helped the company solve the solder bleed problem. Helped the company get TÜVRheinland certified, during which my responsibilities mainly lie in Pull Test and Flash Test. Learnt how to operate and control Komax Solar stringers and Reis robots such as Trimmer Robot, Flash Tester, Hi-Pot, EL Tester, and etc.

Luoyang Monocrystalline Factory, Luoyang Glass Corporation and Luoyang Refractory Materials Factory Jun 2010 to Jul 2010
Worked mainly in the area of inorganic materials. Made float glass by floating molten glass on a bed of molten tin. Worked on the Czochralski process assembly lines to make monocrystalline. Also participated in the workshop to make refractory materials.
Research Experiences:
Wright Center for Photovoltaics, UT Aug 2011 to Jan 2013
Deposited p-i-n a-Si:H solar cells on glass using PECVD and measured the optical characterization of some silicon samples and silicon nitride (SiNx) samples using Infrared Variable Angle Spectroscopic Ellipsometer (IR-VASE) and Visible Variable Angle Spectroscopic Ellipsometer (V-VASE) under the guidance of Dr. Nikolas Podraza. Spectroscopic ellipsometry software WVASE32 is used to analyze the experimental data. Two models are built to fit the experimental data in visible and infrared range. Different oscillators are chosen to build the models. Comparing the results of visible and infrared range, optical characterization such as index of refraction (n) and extinction coefficient (k) can be obtained. Loading the data into Origin, curves for a series of complex index of refraction (N = n + ik) can be plotted. Reports about optical characterization of silicon nitride samples were written for some companies and institutes such as Applied Materials (AMAT) and North Carolina State University (NCSU).

Wuhan University of Technology Mar 2010 to Dec 2010
Fabricated electrical circuits on polymer materials, especially PET using Vacuum Ultraviolet Lithography (VUV) with the help of Dr. Zhongkui Wu. The films served as the template for the selective Electroless deposition of copper structures. Water contact angle and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) were measured. Micron copper patterns were observed also.
