I joined Aon Fire Protection Engineering (formerly Schirmer Engineering) in 2001, directly after graduating from the University of Maryland. I am an Associate Consultant in the Washington, DC Regional Office (WRO). My expertise includes fire protection and life safety systems design, testing and inspection, and computer-based fire modeling analysis. Systems include high-rise and atrium smoke control systems, fire detection/alarm and emergency voice communications systems, fire sprinkler and pump systems, special hazards systems including clean agents. Project expertise includes office, mixed-use retail and assembly, high-rise structures, hospital and health care occupancies.
My contract experience includes a period of (3) months in 2010 working for the United States Armed Forces in Afghanistan (USFOR-A), where I completed fire life safety inspections, conducted educational seminars, and completed audits of fire departments. In 2011, I continued the same work and managed the contract for an additional (6) month period, also in Afghanistan.
The completion of fire life safety surveys for the Department of State at the United States Embassy in Luanda, Angola is another project of note. Additionally, I supported other engineers working the same contract at various embassies worldwide.
