Work History U.S. Navy (E-5) - Gas Systems Turbine Technician (Electrical) Mar 1983 to June 1987. I attended class ”A”, “C”, BEE, PHASE 1 and 2 ops of Propulsion Engineering Schools in Great Lakes Chicago for Gas Turbine School from 1983 to 1984, (15 months), until I transferred to duty station Mayport, Florida aboard the USS Aubrey Fitch, FFG-34. I operated and maintained control consoles for the Gas Turbine main engine propulsion, electrical distribution, damage control, auxiliary equipment support, fuel oil transfer and ballast control consoles. I also operated electric plant control console for shipboard power distribution by engaging ship service diesel generator units. I reached engineering officer of the watch EEOW,(underway) status, and supervised/assigned work assignments to E-4 and E-3 engineering personnel. I was qualified as on-scene-leader for damage control and firefighting. I stood watches in all engineering spaces, and provided electronic support on two GE LM-2500 gas turbine engines for control loop calibrations. Honorable discharge in 1987 as an E-5 (DD-214 available upon request)
City of Jacksonville -Air Monitoring Technician June 1989 - June 1990 - My duties were to collect air sample data and calibrate test equipment for Carbon monoxide, Sulfur Dioxide, and NOX at strategic computer model locations. This involved daily testing procedures utilizing NTSB standard traceable gasses in various parts per million to verify instrument calibration and data collection accuracy and prepared documentation for DEP and EPA auditing. Voluntary transfer to Water/Wastewater Division of City Business E/I position.
JEA- Electrical and Instrumentation Technician June 1990 to December 2009 - I performed daily repair and maintenance of process controls for the Water and Wastewater divisions in Jacksonville, Florida. I am familiar with all types of testing and calibration tools. I performed routine checks and repairs for the Industrial Pretreatment division on ISCO samplers and other sampling equipment. I have supported Siemens PLC’s and Rosemount transmitters/transducers and some Bailey electro-mechanical controllers/valves. I was a member of the SCADA design and development team which created the telemetry systems for fresh well water pump controls and wastewater pump controls via two way radio communications. I am familiar with safety protocols and EPA and OSHA guidelines for safe work practices and business requirements. I have many computer skills and have worked in and around computers since 1988 mostly in a hardware technician support role. Some other equipment I have worked on are as follows: PH probes, Isco samplers, Honeywell chart recorders, G.E/Westinghouse oxygen probes, dissolved oxygen probes, opacity monitors, hydrogen gas generators, UV flame detectors and FURNAS burner controllers, video cameras, motor control centers, variable speed inverter A/C-D/C drives, (GE and Siemens), detox combustible gas / tox /o2 meters, precision digital PID controllers, Humbolt–Weidag centrifuges, Westinghouse burner control...
