Work History:

• Contract Engineer • Construction Engineer • I&E
July 2003 to Present
Work as a contract engineer doing reliability & maintainability engineering on wireless telecom Multi-Carrier Power Amplifiers (MCPAs) and general engineering work for various companies. I worked as a field construction engineer on projects for oil field electrification.

• RF & Microwave Applications Engineer
REMEC Q-bit, Palm Bay, FL January 2001 to July 2003
Q-bit supplies RF and microwave amplifiers for use in wireless telecommunication and military applications. Worked with prospective customers to match our product lines; low-noise amplifiers (LNAs) to high-power amplifiers (HPAs), including MCPAs, for GSM/EDGE, CDMA, WCDMA, and UMTS; to their needs. Qualified the technical inquires and achieved a complete, concise specification. Supported the bidding process by doing the costing from the engineering estimates for materials and design time. Additionally, developed and presented field-sales training classes, organized equipment demonstrations for trade shows, did technical writing for brochures and web sites, and provided technical support to users and a worldwide field sales force. EN-TRONICs supplies instrumentation and control (I&C) systems used with Cooper-Bessemer (CB) natural gas, centrifugal compressors. Worked at the BP AMOCO Jayhawk & Pascagoula Natural Gas Processing Plants doing systems installation, testing, trouble shooting, training, technical writing, and project management. At the AMOCO Jayhawk plant, helped achieve a 98.95% system availability for six natural gas compressors. My work involved the following: Operator interfaces (WONDERWARE), instrumentation; programmable logic controller (PLC) software for closed-loop process control, motor starting & valve sequencing, vibration monitoring, SCADA, and communications networking.

• Sales Engineer
Applied Data Sciences (ADS), Dallas, TX September 1986 to September 1996
ADS started in 1981 catering to the oil exploration market. When I started, my task was to develop new markets. I focused ADS on supplying digital input/output (I/O) boards, and I/O systems integration for use in upgrading and modernizing real-time systems such as flight simulators, power plant simulators, electric utility system control centers, and satellite ground stations. After focusing on these markets, my annual sales grew from zero to over $750,000. The majority of this new business had gross profit margins of typically 40%.

• Customer Service Engineer
Control Data Corporation, Dallas, TX August 1985 to September 1986
Supported a computer-aided-design (ECAD) software package that accomplished schematic data capture & logic simulation of electronic circuits. Spent three days per week on-site at Rockwell International at their Communications Transmission Systems Division supporting over 150 design engineers. Keep the ECAD software up and running by either finding solutions to bugs or improvising workaro...
