Construction Engineer: lead and oversee a variety of building projects from start to finish. The jobs can range from a small remodeling or renovation job to the construction of both the residential and commercial structure.
I’m the primary contact with clients and I’m in charge for scheduling the construction phases and tracking material orders [215 Pacific street, New Residential Use, Addition/Rehabilitation, five-story building - Saints Simon&Jude Church, New Elevator Installation].
I also conduct special inspections during the construction process of both the residential and commercial structure to verify that work is being done in accordance to approved plans and specifications.

ITALFERR S.P.A. 2003 - 2012
2008- 2012 - Assistant Project Manager: Construction of High-Speed/High Capacity Florence Rail Hub.
Total investment involved = 1.7 billion euros.
The project comprises construction of twin 10 meter diameter rail tunnels, seven kilometers long using TBM, and an underground station designed by Sir Norman Foster. The new station will be 25000 square meters in plan and will be twenty two meters below ground. The project also includes hydraulic engineering improvement work on the Mugnone River in the section between Santa Maria Novella and the mouth of the Arno River. As Assistant Project Manager I oversaw the managerial and technical aspects of the entire project from design through construction. During the construction I was in charge of controlling schedules, cost and quality in compliance with the project and existing law and trade standards. I also was responsible for oversight of construction site safety.
2006-2007 - Assistant Project Manager: Construction of High-Speed/High Capacity Naples Rail Hub.
Total investment involved = 1.0 billion euros.
The Naples Hub constitutes one of the key points on the national railway system; building the lines necessary for High Speed Rail improved capacity on the existing railway network to upgrade regional and district passenger traffic and freight traffic. The project comprised construction of a new Naples-Salern line and improvements to the Villa Literno-Gianturco-Cancello-Caserta lines. The contract included: civil works (dual track line 12 kilometers long with embankments and trenches, three prefabricated beam bridges 20 meters long), railway infrastructure, safety and technological works, and electricial system. As Assistant Project Manager I oversaw the managerial and technical aspects of the construction, managing three contractors who worked simultaneously in the same area of the site. I was in charge of controlling schedules, cost and quality in compliance with the project and existing law and trade standards and I was also responsible for oversight of construction site safety.
2005-2006 - Construction Specialist - Construction Unit.
• Responsible for approval and acceptance of the materials in accordance with the technical specifications, including inspections at the material manufacturing plants for construction of the new bridge over the Euphrates River .
• Preparation of proposal documents for participation in the tender for the Project Management Services with regard to the final design and construction of the bridge over the Strait of Messina and the related road and rail links on the Calabrian and Sicilian sides. Developed the technical and qualitative methods and procedures that Italferr and its partners intended to use for performance of the services. Coordinated the efforts between all the Organizational Units involved to develop operational procedures and the use of resources for management of the construction phase.
• Monitoring concrete batching facilities on the High-Speed Rome-Naples stretch, by checking automation of machinery and tests on the fresh concrete.
• For all Italferr’s projects:
o updating Civil Works construction specifications, interfacing with the construction site and the supervision of the construction team; continuous and direct feed-backs during the technical inspections and visits from the Construction Managers/Resident Engineers/Construction Supervisors. Definition of guidelines for minimum controls to be performed on site. Updating of the Operational/Corporate Construction Instructions. Definition, in agreement with the other Organisational units involved, of methods and standards for contractual schemes (conventions, integrated tenders, additional/modifying acts, annexes to additional acts in General Contractors convention).
2003-2005 – Field Engineer: Construction of Rome-Naples High-Speed/High Capacity Railroad
Total investment involved = 5.0 billion euros.
• June 2003 – January 2004 in the Road and Geotechnical Organisational Unit as Junior Designer in the Project Team for the Rome-Naples High-Speed line, for the Construction Design, and the technical and financial control of the Final Design of the modifications to the Rome-Naples stretch.
• January 2004 – June 2005, Field Engineer for the Rome-Naples High-Speed line; presence on site and coordination with the Engineering Manager and Construction Manager, examining the proposals for solution of non-conformities for the more complex cases from a technical point of view or with contractual implications.
