Receive and provide on-the-job training of power plant auxiliary components including pump and piping systems, steam turbine systems, heat exchangers, valves, compressors, boilers, PLC’s, demineralizers, and purifier skids.

Operate and troubleshoot primary and secondary plant equipment and systems during unit start-up, normal operations, off-normal operations and shutdown under direction of procedures, work orders, and troubleshooting guides.

Perform in-service, and post-maintenance testing of critical plant components to maintain a high level of reliability in plant systems, including emergency diesel generators, and emergency core cooling pumps.

Document and Troubleshoot complicated mechanical and electrical discrepancies on various plant systems.

Execute and release equipment clearance orders in order to safely isolate equipment for the Maintenance Departments in accordance with OSHA lock-out/tag-out standards.

Extensive hands on experience interpreting technical documents and drawings (such as piping and instrumentation diagrams, circuit wiring diagrams, and logic drawings), performing work guided by procedures and work orders, and staying with in nuclear regulatory guidelines.

Generate work orders, and condition reports on degraded plant equipment based on observations discovered during watch-station tours (reactor, turbine, outside, & radioactive waste building rounds).

Assisted maintenance personnel in disassembly, repair, and replacement of plant equipment during performance of FIN (fix it now) team duties.

Excellent housekeeping practices consistently maintained to prevent the inclusion of foreign materials in critical plant systems

Completed 8+ month training program consisting of classroom training, testing, oral boards, on-the-job training, task performance evaluation, and watch standing under instruction of qualified operators.

Selected for reactor operator initial school.
