• Worked closely with Principals, Associates and Project Managers to provide assistance when the team was approaching a deadline. Responsibilities often included constructing calculation packages to verify structural plans and details, responding to RFIs, processing submittals, reviewing shop drawings, performing take-offs for cost estimates, modeling and analyzing buildings, designing structural members according to the appropriate code. Familiarized with OSHPD and DSA projects.
• Assisted senior staff with site investigations to ensure construction complied with the approved structural documents and building codes. Also investigated existing buildings for possible expansion or retrofit.
• Designed roof frame supporting pipes and HVAC equipment according to ASCE 07-10 Chapter 13. Calculations included beam, column and base plate sizing, welded frame connections, and connection to roof including post-installed anchors.
• Modeled pile and grade beam interaction in RISA to analyze possible failure modes. Provided an original solution to the pile placement to satisfy shear and moment capacity in grade beams and the axial capacity of the piles.
• Performed hand calculations to determine the drift of existing buildings to ensure the seismic gaps provided were large enough to provide clearance between the structures in case of seismic activity.

• Composed storm water Annual Comprehensive Site Compliance Evaluations (ACSCE) and Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPP) for clients which serve to identify and evaluate sources of pollutants associated with industrial activities that may affect the quality of storm water discharges and authorized non-storm water discharges from the facility and implement site-specific Best Management Practices (BMPs) to reduce pollutants associated with industrial activities.
