Intern, Birch Aquarium, La Jolla, CA 2011          
Prepared and taught lesson plans to classes of 20 children, demonstrating basic oceanography topics, including routine field trips to help encourage early interest in science. Responsible for safety and of children while on field excursions, for activities such as snorkeling, surfing, dissections, and kayaking.

Electrical Engineering Intern, Front Edge Technology, Baldwin Park, CA 2009         
Assisted production through quality assurance tests on the main product: ultra-thin, durable, rechargeable, batteries intended for use in medical devices. Fabricated batteries were tested for various physical and electrical properties, with defective batteries removed from the batch.
• Gained experience working in clean rooms and working with test machinery and engineers.
• Successfully completed a side project to create a low-maintenance temperature sensor system using a solar panel to charge batteries. Gave a technical presentation discussing the process and results of this side project to eight of the company’s senior staff.
