Position: Manufacturing Engineer

- Designed & implemented lean manufacturing cells to handle a wide variety of large transformer welder products. Originally this area produced 57 different low volume products on 2 assembly lines. Downtime & missed promise
dates were reduced approximately 50% while production & sales have nearly tripled since implementation.
- Extensive involvement in implementing Kanban replenishment programs throughout the shop (Card Kanban & Dedicated Container Kanban). Developed and implemented Kanban replenishment process on majority of sheet metal parts manufactured in house (1000+ part numbers)
- Worked extensively with R&D on standardization of fasteners, corrugate packing material, and sheet aluminum raw material. Worked with suppliers to setup a JIT replenishment program for aluminum raw materials. Aluminum sheet raw material was standardized and reduced from 10 sizes to 5.
- Large Transformer Welder Assembly Support – Includes identifying manufacturing and fulfillment issues, develop and implement manufacturing solutions (tooling, fixtures, etc), and training operators on new procedures (Job Hazard Analysis, ISO 14001, ISO 9001).
- CNC Machining Support – Includes identifying manufacturing and fulfillment issues, implementing various cost reduction projects, machine programming, and working with R&D to implement new products.
- Responsible for accounts to move and refurbish existing equipment and purchase new equipment.
