I am a member of the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB), UK and hold a masters degree in Construction Management & Economics. I am a highly self-motivated and innovative individual with over ten years experience and understanding of the construction industry. I have significant leadership and people management skills. EMPLOYMENT HISTORY

April 2004 - present SENIOR SITE ENGINEER Balfour Beatty Utility Solutions Ltd (U. K)

Joined the transmission department of Balfour Beatty Power Networks Ltd in April 2004 as an Assistant Site Engineer and was seconded to the Electricity Alliance (EAST) in March 2007 after part of the transmission department formed an Alliance with the client (National Grid). I was promoted to the position of Site Engineer in January 2008. My employer changed to Balfour Beatty Utility Solutions in September 2008 after a merger between Balfour Beatty Power Networks and Balfour Beatty Utilities. I was promoted to my current position of Senior Site Engineer in July 2011. My duties include:

• Responsible for the delivery of both major and minor overhead line projects.
• Responsible for the effective management of the project team.
• Assist the client’s Project Engineer/Manager in the successful completion of refurbishment works on Overhead lines in the power transmission industry.
• Ensure construction projects are delivered in time, on budget and to the required high standards.
• Responsible for the effective management of sub-contractors involved in the execution of projects.
• Responsible for the production of the main construction programme of works for the project and also for execution by sub-contractors.
• Overseeing the day-to-day activities of construction staff.
• Monitoring the works of construction staff and ensuring that all works are done in accordance to method statements and with minimal risks.
• Production and issuing of method statements and risk assessments for works to be done in accordance with Health and Safety regulations.

Nov. - Dec 2002 CAD TECHNICIAN/CIVIL ENGINEER Fairview Estates (Housing) Ltd. (U.K.)

Main responsibilities included:
• Responsible for the production of final corrected infrastructural details.
• Assisted in the calculations and positioning of services infrastructure in layouts, plans, etc.
• Cross-checking of details of infrastructure.
• Organisation of detailed infrastructural drawings for submission.

• Assisted in the design, construction and refurbishment of some government properties.

• Assisted the site engineer in the design and construction of a brick and tile manufacturing plant.
• Coordination and management of construction gangs including sub-contractors.

• Production of working drawings of major highway projects using AutoCAD.
• The use of AutoCAD in the production of Structural drawings.
• Was responsible for the writing and presentation of weekly progress reports and was introduced to decision-making based on consultations between client/supplier and contractors/sub-contractors.

All structural designs were based on the British Standards for Reinforced Concrete (as outlined in BS 8110) and steel design (as outlined in BS 5950). All Highway designs were based on the AASHTO classification.

COURSES AND CONFERENCES

January 28-30 2013 First Aid At Work (First Aid): Attended a 3-day First Aid At Work course. This course was aimed at providing participants with the basic knowledge required to deal with workplace emergencies.

Sep 4-5 & Oct 2-4 2012 Leadership in Action Course. Attended a 5-day course designed for senior company managers that sought to enhance and develop the leadership skills of its participants. The course also analyses and develops behaviours to improve participants’ personal leadership styles and helps recognise behaviours which inhibit the impact of the individual’s leadership style.

Jan 21,22,27,28 2009 IOSH / IEMA. Participated in a 4-day programme with other site engineers. Programme was structured with and delivered by Reed Training as part of a company initiated continuing management development programme.

Nov. 19-21 2008 Site Management Safety Training Scheme. Attended a four day course in Construction Site Manager’s Safety. Course content included Legislation, the Management of Health and Safety, the CDM Regulations (2007), Environmental issues, etc. The course is an accredited course with Construction skills (registration number 2510749).
