PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

BLUE PARROT DESIGN Sept. 2011 - Present
Research Technologist

Television studio design, design of innovative acoustical absorber (patent pending),
market research, analyzed transducer design techniques for piezoelectric,
electrodynamic, electrostatic and plasma modalities.

AVAGO TECHNOLOGIES, INC. July 2008 – Aug. 2011
Senior R&D Engineer

Developed a unique ultrasonic acoustical MEMS transducer with a small research and
development team. Responsibilities included the acoustical concept and design,
package integration for acoustics, manufacturability and cost, and qualification of
reliability. This product was selected by a major electronics manufacturer for one of
their high-volume product lines in retail and commercial markets.

* Led the acoustical design on a fast-paced product development team achieving
“quantum jumps in program progress”- each time allowing the program to continue.

* Revitalized the design process, using concurrent activities to avoid repeating the
reliability qualification, saving over $287,000.

* Managed the reliability and qualification test program, formed and led ad-hoc teams
involving people in six different departments and in four different countries.
Achieved successful results, on time, for successful business reviews, both internal
and with our customer.

* Introduced acoustical-mechanical modeling using COMSOL™ Finite Element Analysis
(FEA) software, driving performance improvements and reducing development cycle time. As a result, my method has been adopted throughout the division.

* Achieved four patented inventions for the MEMS product, which created a competitive
advantage and superior performance.

UNITED TECHNOLOGIES CORP., Otis Feb. 2006 – June 2008
Senior Test and Reliability Engineer

Performed acoustical, vibration and mechanical measurements on new elevator
prototypes. Analyzed test data and made recommendations for improving elevator ride
quality. Also carried out reliability testing and analysis on critical electro-
mechanical safety components.

* Improved elevator ride quality and lowered cost by inventing a self-adjusting
vibration isolator for elevator cars and wrote the business plan for implementing it
(international patent pending).

* Effectively managed test and data analysis projects.

* Upgraded the measurement lab, improving and streamlining measurement methods, saving time and money.

* Proficient acoustical and vibration analysis using the Bruel & Kjaer PULSE™ multi-
analyzer.

HONEYWELL, INC., Aerospace Aug. 2001 – Dec. 2005
Product Engineer, Principal Hardware Design Engineer

Product Engineer for an Attitude and Heading Reference System, a gyroscope-based
navigation computer, used in large numbers in business and commuter jets and for
high-precision “smart” pressure sensors for aircraft altitude and airspeed data.
These air data modules are used on Boeing 7X7, Airbus A320, and F-16 and F-18 Fighter
aircraft. Also responsible for the design of mechanical interfaces for air data
avionics modules for higher yield, lower cost and greater reliability.

* Achieved first year savings of $337,700 by reducing gyroscopes damaged during field
re-calibration.

* Met tough schedule, performance and size requirements for the de-icing subsystem of
the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter's air data probe, by leading a 3-person design team.

* Achieved reduced cost, increased reliability and improved manufacturability for new
versions of a precision altitude sensor module.

* Supported Embraer’s new plane certification by managing the building and testing of
prototype sensor boards, achieving record one-week turnaround times on each of 4
builds.

CORNING INC., Photonic Technologies Sept. 1999 – June 2001
Measurement Systems Team Leader

Responsible for supporting automated production measurement system...
