Project: Improve Wear Resistance of Titanium Components by Coating Boron Nitride Thin Film.
• Utilized dip-coating technique to improve wear resistance of titanium; coated titanium with BN ceramic thin film to form multiple layers (TiB2, TiB and TiN) at the surface for increased resistance of the surface.
• Uncovered a new avenue of research, supported theories with data and generated new ideas for others to pursue.

Key Laboratory of Silicate Materials Science and Engineering, Wuhan University of Technology
Project: Tungsten-Doped Vanadium Dioxide Films Deposited on Glass to Provide Automatic Temperature Control.
• Applied magnetron sputtering technique to coat the W-doped VO2 thin film on glass, allowing it to show thermal switching properties at room temperature and act as a “smart window” to regulate temperature.
• Designed all aspects of research project and optimized process of thin film synthesis.
