ACADEMIC RESEARCH:
“Non-destructive Testing for Surface Hardness and Case Depth”
Center for Heat Treating Excellence, Worcester Polytechnic Institute, MA, Sep 2011--July 2013
Fabricated heat treated alloy samples to be destructively and nondestructively tested, designed the gas and vacuum carburizing processes to meet the same specification by using CarbTool (carburization model) to determine the process parameters such as micro hardness and compared with experimental results. Used the integrated heat transfer, mechanics and phase transformation software(DEFORM) to predict hardness and residual stress.

“Properties of the Wrought Magnesium Alloy”
Shanxi Integrated Precision Forming Center, NUC, China, Feb. 2010—May. 2011
Prepared the MB2 alloy samples, conducted the plane strain compression test on some samples, conducted upsetting process on the rest samples and conducted the plane strain compression test after fabricated the samples. Conducted tensile test on all the samples, observed the microstructure by SEM, analyzed the data and compared the strength increment of two sets of samples.

“Forging Mold Design”
North University of China, Taiyuan, Shanxi, China, Feb.2010--May.2011
Designed the multi-position progressive mold for the ears of explosion protection band by AutoCAD and Pro Engineer an...
