Education
Master of Science in Engineering, Industrial Engineering Arizona State University, USA GPA: 3.70/4 May 2014*
Bachelor of Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Anna University, India GPA: 3.85/4 May 2012

Professional Experience
Process Improvement Intern, Alstom Power Inc., Windsor, Connecticut June to August 2013
• Performed value stream mapping (VSM) on around 81 processes for the core functions of renewable steam business.
• Developed a process plan using DMAIC Six Sigma concept to streamline the processes and eliminate redundancy through 8D Methodology increasing the process efficiency by ten percent and, also developed works Instructions for each process to define how the process should be done in less time and without rework.
• Performed pilot runs and managed process map inventory thereby implementing the future state VSM within the specified deadline.

Production Engineering Intern, Tractors and Farm Equipment Ltd (TAFE), India January to April 2012
• Spearheaded a team to develop an assembly line using DMADV process for the side-shift lever used in domestic tractors.
• Collected data and performed time studies, measurement system analysis to eliminate potential variation in measurements.
• Devised a balanced assembly line with 5S, standardized flow using AutoCAD/Solidworks and improved the existing process by reducing the queue time, unnecessary operator movements there by reducing the number of operators required from 5 to 3.
• Proposed Gantt, PERT and process failure mode effective analysis (PFMEA) to analyze anticipated risks, their solutions and other critical process control charts to interpret the results of the developed line.

Process Improvement Intern, Hyundai Motors, India June to December 2011
• Analyzed and improved productivity, scheduling and assisted personnel to improve facility utilization by statistical analysis.
• Proposed changes in operator work metrics based on time studies, cost analysis and process planning.
• Developed various assembly layouts to reduce time of parts movement by 5 percent between work stations.

Academic Experience
Process Improvement of a real time business through simulation of process models: Dr. John Fowler Spring 2013
• Analyzed the queuing behavior of the business with the goal to improve the working efficiency of the model.
• Improved the existing queuing model which reduced the customer wait time by 10 seconds, increased the daily profit by 5 percent, and performed cost analysis to ensure the proposed model increased annual profit and customer serving efficiency.
