Improved tool uptime on cell stringer tool from 15% to 84% within 6 months.
Successfully cross-trained maintenance technicians to 2 toolsets each
Qualified 2 new solar cell vendors and 5 new solar cells for production

Intel Corporation, Chandler AZ, July 2006 – Feb 2009
Photolithography Process/Equipment Engineer – responsible for installing new lithography tools to factory floor, qualifying new tools for high volume manufacturing, troubleshooting tools for process variance, training new engineers and assigning and prioritizing daily maintenance and repair tasks to technicians.
Worked with outside vendors to unpack and install new tools and set-up tools to be released to company for additional proprietary set-up for running manufacturing processes.
Worked to keep new tools running well with low inventory and balanced new tool installations with existing tool maintenance needs.
Used various in-line testing, end-of-line testing and statistical process control charts to find and address process problems promptly, used in-line monitors to diagnose tool health and address problems with manufacturing processes, used schematic drawings to troubleshoot tool issues and used LEAN manufacturing principles to optimize processes.
Responsible for prioritizing and assigning daily tasks to technicians working on process tools and reprioritizing tasks as problems arose.
Responsible for safety training for technicians and engineers including awareness of tool hazards (chemical, mechanical and electrical), compliance with control of hazardous energies guidelines, reporting safety incidents from other factories and instituting new systems to prevent future occurrences and proper hazardous chemical procedures. Trained as emergency responder and first responder for hazardous material spills/leaks.

Intel Corporation, Rio Rancho NM, July 2003 – July 2006
Photolithography Process/Equipment Engineer – responsible for keeping tools running in high volume and high altitude environment, optimizing tools and processes, safe operation and maintenance of tools, cost improvements on tools, converting existing tools for additional usage, tool recipe creation, coaching and mentoring technicians and qualifying tools to run new processes.
Worked with development factory to transfer process from low volume (100 – 200 wafers per week) to high volume (8,000 – 10,000 wafers per week) in a high altitude environment which included optimizing recipe flows (chemical, air flows, vacuum flows, time in chambers) to match development factory specs, converting from an aluminum process to copper process, putting in safeguards to minimize copper contamination and training technicians on new processes and procedures.
Converted obsolete tools to alternate configuration to save on purchasing and installing new tools, designed experiments and implemented changes to reduce chemical usage and designed Weibull analysis experiments to reduce replaceable parts consumption while keeping tools at optimal health.

Partnered with functional areas outside of lithography to repair problems being caused by lithography which involved shutting down production line to segment problem and bring production back online within 12 hours, implementing solutions and proliferating solution to factories in US, Israel and Ireland. Solution saved the company $20K per instance of testing card breakage.
