Textron Systems Unmanned Systems — Charleston, SC
Textron Systems Unmanned Systems has designed, produced, tested, fielded and supported unmanned systems throughout the world for the past 25 years. My primary responsibility is to support two Universal Ground Control Station (UGCS) product lines through prototyping and Low Rate Initial Production (LRIP) and into Full Rate Production (FRP). While working at TSUS my accomplishments and responsibilities have included:
•Defining production build sequencing and developing burn-down charts for final assembly of the UGCS S280 resulting in a reduction of final assembly touch labor hours by roughly 30% from 2013 year-beginning to year-end.
•Developing and improving standard work documents as well as inspection documentation for 2 of the (UGCS) product lines.
•Mapping and defining production system work cell layouts to facilitate material presentation at the work cells and delivery of material to the work cells.
•Investigating and improving upon safety risks/concerns in the electrical testing and systems integration portion of the production cycle using the Hierarchy of Hazard Prevention and Control.
•Ensuring Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) are effectively incorporated into in-WIP stations as to minimally impact the production cycle.
•Performed in a stretch role in 2014 as a Production Planner and Scheduler for six months gaining experience in production scheduling and capacity/resource planning.
•Utilized Systems thinking to assist the site Operations Manager in utilizing a Swim Lane Diagram to map and define functional responsibilities in the process of controlling non-conforming material identified on the production floor.

•Implemented a new Production Scheduling system for a sheet metal stamping and forming area resulting in an average of 93% parts availability, increased from 80% while decreasing machine change overs and total parts inventory.
•Lead assembly area reconfiguration to leverage a Kanban material replenishment system, Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and Six Sigma strategies.
•Assisted in the establishment of a new on-site raw materials warehouse called a Supermarket and material replenishment system using a Minimarket/Supermarket system.
