Development of a testing framework for high performance computing clusters:
During each maintenance period, administrators of the Texas Advanced Computing Center (TACC) install, build, deploy, and configure upgraded/new versions of software. To help them to do this task, they developed a system tool that automates the process. Nevertheless, there is nothing in the current version to check the correctness of the installation. With this automation testing framework developed, we check whether the build is correctly installed. It also checks the performance of the new build and compares it to the old build and checks the correctness of new results.
•Investigated the currently available options for testing the correctness of the build
•Used Python (in Linux) to build the framework.
•Used TESTING MANAGER by Robert McLay written in LUA for the new framework.
•Developed an automated testing framework for HPC Clusters.
•Compared the old build and the new build using the framework.
