Resume

Summary:
Highly versatile computer systems professional with seven years of experience in the development, construction, and management of software and hardware systems. Proven skills in building multi-disciplinary technology solutions from the ground up to meet customer needs in addition to retrofitting existing infrastructure and software to meet new challenges in the field.

Education:

Jacksonville State University
Bachelor of Science in Computer Information Systems
Minor: Business Administration

Experience:
Software Engineer II – Northrop Grumman
October 2012 – Present

Responsibilities include designing, developing, documenting, testing and debugging software and systems in an enterprise environment; primarily in Java. Additionally required to conduct multidisciplinary research, analyze software requirements, determine feasibility, and develop software testing/validation procedures and documentation. Work is principally performed in 5-10 man teams using scrum methodology.

Systems Analyst II – COLSA Corporation
October 2011 – September 2012

Providing systems analysis support to the U.S. Army's Software Engineering Directorate (SED). Responsibilities include working with computer system/network architecture, database management, and management of Windows and Linux Systems. Work involves database administration duties for the JBC-P project analysis team and implementing/developing SQL scripts and associated tools.
I worked individually and in a team environment with software engineers and analysts to develop requirements, design prototypes, and implement software test tools in a rapid prototyping environment. In conjunction with software engineering I worked to design, build, integrate, test, and troubleshoot stand-alone and embedded database systems, rich web applications, and database integration/manipulation/intelligence tools.

Database Administrator – EMCO Technologies, NASA MSFC
September 2009 – October 2011

Primarily responsible for designing, building, testing, and troubleshooting both stand-alone and embedded databases for prepackaged and custom software – extant and purpose created – for use in the Network Engineering and Property Management divisions of the Lockheed Martin ODIN contract. Also responsible for day to day data-mining and data retrieval operations across multiple databases with both disparate data sets and SQL platforms, along with software development to automate the same.

The majority of development for this position was in C# with web-based user interfaces, and was primarily related to database and network-centric systems. While some software was built from the ground up, most of my work was to expand on existing software infrastructure capabilities or to integrate multiple systems to create new meta-data and data mining based functionality. Examples include a Mondrian cube based real time data-mining and tracking application for inventory, billing, trend analysis, and forward looking business capability planning; along with an automated usage and reporting system for light-touch billing integrated into the same.

Technical Intern, Sr. – Lockheed Martin, NASA MSFC
May 2009 –August 2009

Primarily responsible for researching, designing, and implementing custom or prepackaged software for the Network Engineering group to facilitate day to day activities. Duties included, but were not limited to, data manipulation and database integration; developing rich web applications for network data analysis; and software interoperability and integration. Additionally assisted with network troubleshooting, maintenance, and upgrades; both software and hardware.

During this period I developed several proof of concept systems for internal tool sets, along with associated feasibility and cost-benefit analysis documents to support championing their development, which later became codified as internal standards. Most development constituted Java based back ends with web based front ends in several different languages and hosting environments based on existing infrastructure and available employee skill pools.

Technical Intern – Lockheed Martin, NASA MSFC
June 2008 – August 2008

I worked extensively with the Network Engineering, System Administration, and Network Management teams responsible for the ODIN Lockheed Martin contract for NASA at the Marshall Space Flight Center. Responsibilities varied from group to group, including - but not limited to — programming several variants of Cisco IOS; setup, installation, and management of campus ...
