Vice President of Operations
Provide strategic leadership and technical direction of privately held, value-driven general contractor firm providing a full range of site/land development, new construction and remodeling services for the private and public sector. Serve as one of three senior project managers directing various types of construction contracts—Lump Sum, Design-Build and Construction Management.

Hold oversight for business development, capture strategy, and client relations, detailed project estimates, bid proposals, contracting, construction permits, purchasing and materials management, human resources, and financial controls. Coordinate and direct work action plans, project scheduling and oversight, punch lists, change orders, budgeting and cost validations. Monitor project timeline, quality and safety standards, issue project status and financial reports and completion certification.
 Played a key role in assuring review of subcontractors’ technical submittals including start-up plans and schedules, quality control program, change-order requests, and other technical requirements.

Key Contributions

La Ceiba Public Housing - $29.6 million: Engaged and professionally interacted with consultants, design professionals, state and federal housing authorities and environmental agency while successfully directing subcontractors and other construction-related personnel in planning, coordinating and safely executing modernization project of 300-unit housing project requiring asbestos and lead-paint remediation, replacement of all site work and related utilities, remodeling of recreational areas, head start and administrative facilities.

University of Puerto Rico, School of Pharmacy - $20.5 million: Leveraged well-rounded project experience and management skills to effectively lead and direct construction of new facilities including museum, administrative offices, classrooms, laboratories, green areas, and 300-seat amphitheatre for use by all members of the Medical Sciences Campus.

Jardines de Campo Rico Public Housing - $19.8 million: Served as project lead for comprehensive modernization project of 196 apartments, new administration building and basketball court, coming in on schedule with less than 1/8 of a percent increase in net change orders.

CVS Pharmacy - $4 million: Served as primary source for strategy, guidance and solutions during construction of new building on complex terrain achieving an opening date within the same weekend as a top competitor’s less complex project located across the street, even though they had a three month lead. Delivered project on time and within budget.

First Bank & First Mortgage, Las Catalinas - $ 1.8 million: Engaged in all business development stages since the owners initial approach, company prequalification for a closed invitation bid, estimating and proposal presentation, owner and subcontractor’s contract negotiation, and a successful project’s all around execution and delivery of a banking and mortgage state of the art facility.

Project Manager/ Project Engineer: Rodríguez & Del Valle, Inc. | Guaynabo, PR 1993 to 2004
 Escuela Superior de Bellas Artes - $22.5 million: Directed the construction of new, state-of-the-art creative and performing arts high school for the Department of Education providing faculty and students with multiple facilities including classrooms, cafeteria, amphitheatre, recreation and administrative offices.
 La Nueva Puerta de San Juan - $9.2 million: Overcame multiple obstacles in the construction of new project containing public housing, elderly housing and commercial space, taking place during change of administration pulling on ability to manage contract along bipartisan lines.
 Manuel A. Pérez Public Housing, Block A and Block C - $18 million: Directed five-year housing and communal facilities modernization project under state housing and HUD regulations requiring lead-based paint and asbestos abatement and mitigation. For Block C worked as completion contractor for the surety company due to previous contractor’s default.
