Engineering Intern- October 2013 to Present
• Transfer of Pipe-Grade Resin: Project consisted of working with a reliability engineer to determine the selection and installation of a transfer system for pipe grade resin on residential tile production line. Determined a pneumatic system was the best and will be installed in October 2014.
• TiO2 System Optimization: Conducted a time study to determine bottleneck in TiO2 feeding system. After I determined feed rate as the root cause, a larger feed screw diameter was suggested. Management then approved the installation of larger screw.
• Exterior Lighting Project: Project scope was to replace all exterior lights with higher efficiency fixtures. As project manager I audited all lights, determined cost and savings, coordinated with Edison for efficiency incentives, determined fixture vendor, placed purchase orders for all fixtures and work. Currently overseeing installation.
• Design of Film Roller: My task was to design a piece of equipment that would make the task of shredding rolls of film easier. I designed a simple roller that will be placed on top of the current film shredder to more easily feed the film into the shredder. The design was approved and fabrication of the roller is underway.
• Kaizen Experience: 1 week Kaizen event in which the kaizen team determined the optimal solution to bring reusable material from the commercial production line to the residential line. A kanban lane was established and standard work was created for the relief operator. I created a single point lesson for all operators.

Technical Projects
• Senior Project- Research and test PID control system using multiple experiments. Experiments and further research on PID system was later used as the lab manual for future classes.
• Foundry Process – Project consisted of a design for a mold, calculations and simulation of the solidification of the casting, and assembly of the casting itself. The casting was an extrusion press that was chosen by a group.
