Apart of the USMIN Data Base project, where the end product is a public data base that includes all mines and mineral deposits in the United States. The database will be all encompassing history and production of mines as well as geo-referenced points and polygons of open pits, mine dumps and more in ArgGIS. In the new position I am responsible for seven Mining Engineering Student Interns, including training, collaboration, and data consolidation.
• Design and implement plans to train new interns
• Plan and organize the data capture process for history and production information from different data sources
• Plan and implement quality assurance and quality control practices
• Collaborate with the other team leaders to find a way to integrate our data
• Use and grow mining and geology knowledge during data input and company annual report review and capture
