Project Engineer/Environmental Manager for Heavy Civil Construction Projects
Northeast Pocono Reliability Project, Lake Ariel, PA (nearly $300 Million) – Construction activities include vegetation clearing, grubbing & piling within Pennsylvania Power & Light 150ft Right Of Way (ROW), building of roads and structure pads, and restoration work for approximately fifty-eight (58) miles of new 230 kV overhead transmission line along with approximately (9.5) miles of new 138/69kV lines to tie the proposed substation to existing lines.
* Created and leads the Environmental Maintenance Program, which provides for the operation and maintenance of Best Management Practices (BMPs) and performs the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System NPDES permit inspections on a weekly basis and after each rain event to ensure compliance with contract documents, laws and regulations and to aid in effective and efficient operation while providing written and photo documentation of each inspection and deficiency tracking.
* Works closely with the Project Manager with maintaining project coordination by tracking schedule progress using Microsoft Project and Excel, submitting Requests for Information (RFI), tracking material, and executing construction change order requests and estimating cost using Agtek. Plus provide technical advice and help to resolve problems. Knowledge and understanding of local union or prevailing wage rules.
* Becomes familiar and ensures all superintendents and foreman follow the contract Erosion and Sediment, Post Construction Stormwater Management plans and specifications daily.
* Oversees coordination with project staff to outline work plans, assign duties, and responsibilities. Reviews project status and prepares project reports for management and owners
* Provide positive safety leadership to the project and selected as one of the safety captains for the Power and Energy Group.
