• Provide production floor and assembly support in technical matters relating to assembly drawing interpretation, engineering change notices, rework, manufacturing difficulties and specifications.
• Write and/or modify manufacturing work instructions.
• Analyze non-conformance reports for root cause and lead corrective action efforts in cooperation with Product Engineering and communicate project issues, risks and action plans, and status to management.
• Pro-active communication and leadership in the manufacturing process areas.
• Provide technical and continuous improvement support to suppliers that produce finished product or manufacturing processes, work closely with potential suppliers to develop cost effective and timely design solutions to various applications.
• Coordinates activities with other functional areas, remote plants, suppliers, contractors and consultants.
• Participate in customer and vendor meetings to present technical materials and justification of services and product designs.
• Provide technical guidance, training, and/or direction to shop floor personnel.
• Frequent contact with Purchasing to evaluate cost savings for purchased items or materials.

Capital Projects:
• Investigate problems with the process and equipment and then recommending corrective action to be taken. This includes consulting with production personnel, analyzing the supporting data, recommending corrective action, and following through on recommendations to evaluate their effectiveness.
• Review project proposals and determine time frame and funding procedures for projects and resources for various project phases.
• Coordinating major capital purchase projects and/or improvement projects including researching vendor sources, request quotations, select vendors, developing justification, writing AFE, set due date, issue requisitions (coordinate with Purchasing), schedule tryouts, trouble shoot and approve equipment.
• Plan, direct, and coordinate AFE activities of designated projects to ensure that goals or objectives of projects are accomplished within prescribed timeframe and funding parameters.
Lean Projects:
• Analyze existing products for cost savings opportunities.
• Recognizing opportunities to reduce manufacturing and assembly costs and act to implement same.
• Identify and communicate areas for product/service improvements to management personnel.
• Use of data-driven problem solving methodologies (such as Lean,5-S, Value Stream Mapping, Six-Sigma, VA/VE, DFM&A, JSA, DMAIC, etc.)
• Establish and maintain visual management of ongoing (hot) projects.
