Colorado Utilities-Drinking Water Challenges Sept 2013-May 2014
• Developed and administered surveys to municipal water treatment facilities in the Denver Metro and Northern Colorado areas in order to determine the occurrence and severity of algal blooms
• Researched current methods for mitigating algal blooms and treating water for target compounds
• Created MS Excel tool that determines most cost effective alternative for combating algae at any facility
• Optimized taste and odor treatment processes at the Loveland Water Treatment Plant
• Conducted hydraulic analysis of the plant to ensure that proposed changes would not affect water flow
• Worked as part of a team to compile an 80-page report and presented our findings and recommendation to our client
