PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

NORTH AMERICAN MOBILE SYSTEMS, Woodside, NY (11/2012 to 4/2015)

Field Engineer primarily responsible for the on-site evaluation of the One World Trade Center First Responder and Durst two-way radio communication system (Distributed Antenna System)

The Voltage Standing Wave Ratio (VSWR), Return Loss, Cable Loss, and Distance to Fault (DTF) measurements were taken on all transmission cables, risers, and antennas using an Anritsu Site Master Spectrum Analyzer. Acceptance granted upon compliance to the manufacturer specifications and the Principal Engineer's requirements.

Signal loss measurements were taken at several points on each floor while a test signal of 10dBm was applied at the riser. An Anritsu Site Master was used to record the measurements. Each Antenna's radiated emission was measured, in dBm, using a Coyote Dual Modular Receiver. Acceptance granted upon compliance to the Principal Engineer's design calculations.

Propagation: While a test signal set to the design requirements was applied at the riser, the power level (DownLink) was mapped on each floor. Different colors were used to distinguish power level ranges required by the FDNY. An Anritsu Site Master Spectrum Analyzer was used to record the measurements.

Voice Quality recordings were taken using portable Motorola radios and recording equipment. The DownLink voice data was recorded at each floor while the UpLink voice data was recorded at the system's repeater or control center. Voice Quality acceptance is granted by the FDNY.

Bench tested One World Trade Center components (tappers, couplers, antennas, etc) prior to installation.

Generate test data result reports for Principal Engineer review.

UNDERWRITERS LABORATORIES, Melville, NY (10/2006 to 11/2012 and 6/1996 to 11/2004)

Senior Project Engineer primarily responsible for Commercial and Residential fire and security alarm conformity assessment to UL Standards for industry manufacturers such as Honeywell, Napco, Risco, Visonic, DMP, UTC, and Tyco.

Execute Test Plan at UL lab or customer facilities. Perform software (operations) and hardware tests using measuring lab equipment (meters, scope, surge generators, environmental chambers, etc.)

Generate test data sheets using corporate software. Test packet is filled using product information from the installation instructions, parts list, and schematics. This action required product document review.

Provide customers with assessment report containing product construction review results. This report is used through the project to keep track of outstanding noncompliant items. A similar step is taken for product document review (manual, parts list, markings, etc.)

Assist Sales with Request for Quotes (RFQ) to ensure project quote and scope are accurate. The customer is contacted to discuss the request.

Prepare projects for new work queue. This process involves ensuring that the required documents have been received, a proposed test plan included, Standard titles are correct, and a completion date is set.

Generate or revise descriptive UL reports, which consist of product description (equipment type, model number(s), operation, engineering considerations, critical components, etc.), figures (photos), and illustrations (installation instructions, parts list, schematic, component layout, etc.)

Perform Industry File Reviews on UL Listed products to ensure conformity with new or revised UL Standard requirements. The corporate process is followed.

Constant communication with UL staff to ensure harmonization of test procedures and Standard interpretations. UL formed a database where discussions are stored for future retrieval.

Collaborate with customers on noncompliant issues to implement product alterations.

Interact with Authorities Having Jurisdiction and UL field representatives regarding product variations in customer manufacturing facilities or installation sites.

Recognize barriers and seek corrective action to increase efficiency. The actual hours allocated on a project are compared to the hours originally scoped.

Provide excellent customer service by reaching milestones and assuring quoted delivery time.
