8/14 – present Masters Thesis Research, Researching the state of the art in magnetic nozzle technology for plasma propulsion systems for spacecraft, and developing preliminary models of the behavior of plasma in magnetic nozzles. Preforming C++ software development to support this effort.

6/13 – 12/13 Graduate Research Assistant, for Dr. Guo Quan Lu, Center for Power Electronic Systems (CPES), Virginia Tech.
Characterized composite magnetic materials, helped to develop processing techniques for new composite magnetic materials, and helped develop 3D printing capability for research applications. Publication of research results is anticipated.

10/11 – 8/12 Undergraduate Research Assistant, for Dr. Andreas Klein, Technische Universität Darmstadt, Germany, Materials Science department.
Assisted in the characterization of experimental solar cell materials. Designed a device for streamlining the preparation and testing of solar cell samples. Collaborated with the university machine shop to successfully build and implement the device. All written and spoken work conducted in German.
