Graduate Design: Hand Tendon Repair Evaluation Device September 2014- May 2015
• Developed a device to assess tendon repair that helped minimize risk of rupture during rehab
• Collaborated with a plastic surgeon to understand the need and design an effective solution
• Created various 2D and 3D models in Solidworks and 3-D printed part of the device
• Conducted tensile machine testing on material and tendon to model the stress-strain relationship
• Designed an auto-ranging ohmmeter with an Arduino for transcutaneous tendon measurement
• Performed validation and verification tests including ISO electrical safety, biocompatibility and service life testing.
• Completed a detailed FMEA analysis identifying controls based on the risk acceptance chart

Biomedical Senior Design: vHIT Training Device January 2014- May 2014
• Created a device that acts as a training device for diagnosing vestibular disorders
• Established design controls throughout process including design inputs, requirements and reviews.
• Evaluated various design concepts and made CAD drawings using Solidworks
• Programmed the Arduino microcontroller with the gyroscope sensor to collect angular velocity measurements for user display
• Executed several validation and verification tests on the device to ensure that the design concurs with the design requirements

Finite Element Analysis (FEA) of the Femur Bone September 2013- December 2013
• Modeled the femur using CT data to analyze and make predictions about the mechanical behavior of the structure
• Utilized Mimics and ANSA to create a 3-D model from the CT data
• Analyzed the effect on Von mises stress from body load and inclination angles by altering the boundary conditions on ABAQUS
