PROJECTS

Am2901 microcomputer design
A project in ECE-425, where each student designs his own version of the 4-bit microcomputer Am2901 independently and submit it to instructors. I designed the type of transistor circuit to use, sizes, and simulate them using Verilog, mentor graphics, and simvision. Then the circuits are used as building blocks for bigger components like RAM, CPU ALU, Control unit, Registers, Muxes, shifting adders etc. Each component is simulated and verified with test inputs, they are all used to make a single bit slice, which is replicated four times with logic connections between each. I managed to get an overall size below 10,000 nm and was prized 3rd best among 30 students.

Golf course communication system design
A project in ECE-454 antenna course, to design an antenna system for communication between golf carts and a clubhouse. The golf course was a 1.5 by 2 mile area with obstacles such as trees, hills, valleys and water bodies. After all accountabilities, I ended up with a monopole on top of carts and a raised dipole at the clubhouse, which gave a required sensitivity of -80dbm. What I like about this project is that I got to design a working, compact, and co...
