This is a skilled mechanical position in the Monroe County Department of Environmental Services in the field of wastewater collection, conveyance, treatment and solid waste processing. This position differs from Maintenance Mechanic I and Station Mechanic (Electrical, Instrumentation, and Mechanical) by the broader scope involved when completing interrelated duties and assignments, planning and coordinating work activities within a site, and the less technical nature of the position. The employee reports directly to and works under the general supervision of a higher-level staff member with some leeway for independent judgment; however, the more complex work is reviewed by inspection daily, post completion, and thereafter on a periodic basis.
